Positive Vibes
79Opportunities are Everywhere, Be Creative!
Revised December 4th, 2010
Today marks a special anniversary, 18 months have passed since being laid off. Every day is a new adventure that gives me positive vibes about the future.Things happen for a reason. The universe has a plan for everything... with good intention and a will to succeed, opportunities will materialize. As long as I continue to have a confident attitude, look at all possibilities and remain flexible, a new exciting life is starting to take shape.
Of course, there are times when fears and apprehensions play games with your head. But, I know that's only natural. I've had promising responses to my resume, a few phone calls from interested employers and even some interviews. Just nothing that knocks me over the head. My ideal situation would be to have some type of home-based business that produces sustainable income. I'll continue to "think outside the box" and keep those positive vibes flowing. A traditional career just doesn't excite me at this stage in life. It's a time to be bold, creative and discover what my true purpose is.
Remember:Things could be worse
With the unemployment rate at 9.8% and 14.5 million people jobless, the government announced that 2 million unemployed are about to lose their benefits. I understand I'm living on borrowed time. But, this is a chance of a lifetime. Everyday is an open slate that I can carve into any shape my heart desires. Staying disciplined in structuring your time each day takes tremendous focus. Setting goals is a worthwhile practice to achieving positive results. Realize, that reinventing yourself is a full time job.
Finding Hubpages was a god send. I’ve always loved writing but never thought there would be a platform to publish my rambling besides blogging. The true benefits of Hubpages is that with a little effort, you can utilize their site to produce online content that, not only helps people but provides a system through Google adsense, Amazon and Ebay to make money. Being a newbie, I'm just starting to understand the nuances of monetizing my Hubs. Another advantage is the community of writers (Hubbers) that, through their hubs and the forum provide invaluable information about Internet marketing. I now have a great deal of respect for people who earn their living online.
The positive vibes, that sense of freedom and confidence that materialize when establishing a home-based business is the ability to utilize your time to do things you enjoy and still meet your financial responsibilities. Fitness has always been a priority in my life and now fitting in a workout each day is easy. Exercise and wellness should be an important element for everyone. Staying Positive
Establishing a sustainable online income takes persistence, patience and a lot of hard work. Even though I'm relatively new myself, let me suggest a few things that have helped me.
- Time management- Organize your day, set goals daily and stay focused. Whether its writing, researching, promoting, reading or networking don't let distractions get in the way.
- Find a niche- Explore topics that you have an interest in or have personal expertise.
- Patience- It's definitely not "get rich quick". Perseverance!
- Try to establish more than one stream of income other than Hubpages (i.e. freelancing or other affiliate programs) But, don't get overwhelmed.
- Use all the resources that Hubpages provides. Get in on the forums and network. There is an unbelievable amount of information available.
And, just remember one thing, 100% of the shots you don't take don't go in. -Wayne Gretzy
Positive thoughts produce positive results... Keep those positive vibes flowing!!!
Note: As of September 12th, 2010, I'm still surviving, establishing a home based business. If you're interested in joining the HubPages community, here's your opportunity!

Reading it again it makes even more sense. Rated also useful. :)
How is it that I missed this hub yet I feel like this is where we first met! Hmmm I must be having one of those senior moments that seem to be coming faster and faster these days. . Great Hub and an excellent choice of an ending quote:) hope you are having a great weekend .. rated up and useful:)))
Excellent hub my friend. This sentence in particular is awesome: "Realize that reinventing yourself is a full time job." It really is. If one is serious about living life to the fullest, every action and thought should be geared towards discovery, open-mindedness and progress (not without some recuperative relaxation here and there).
HubPages is part of my "self-reinvention" plan, so it's good to know you feel the same way about it. I can relate to your feelings about a "traditional" career as well.
Great hub, rated up! Thanks for the inspiration.

Interesting hub with a lot of good advices, clear and to the point. I liked especially the closing sentence. Very true, if you don't play you can't win. Rated up. :)
